       2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember phone number that connects people with important community services and volunteer opportunities

       2-1-1 is a free, confidential, information and referral service for health and human services in   your community

       2-1-1 available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with multi-lingual capabilities

It is the right of every woman to give birth and the right of every baby to be born. Birthright is an emergency crisis pregnancy service. Providing friendship, hope and love to pregnant women in crisis. All services are free. 

Birthright depends on volunteers to staff our office, help with large mailings, input data into database, and help with fundraising. Donations are need for all expenses

The Center is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide affordable and quality child care and pre-school education to children 4 yrs and under. They emphasize serving disadvantaged children.

CCDC depends on volunteers to assist in the classroom, help supervise outdoor play with teachers and interact with children, help in the library, help with direct mailing, help with fundraising events, help with repairs or maintain the playground, answer phones and open door form 3:00 - 5:30 PM.

CCC’s mission is to assist persons in difficult circumstances with necessities such as food, shelter and utilities, and to help them to become self-sufficient through educational programs and advocacy.
Services: Food pantry, heating/cooling, rental assistance, home repairs, childrens programs, an extensive referral service, and much more. 

CCC depends on volunteers to  help with the food pantry, home repairs, clerical, food pickup, yard work, speaking engagements, public relations, and grant writing. 



Clemson Free Clinic

Clemson Free Clinic provides free medical care and pharmceuticals to eligible residents in Clemson, Pendelton and Central. 

Clemson Free Clinic depends on volunteers to serve as: 1) Receptionist, 2) Spanish interpreter, 3) Patient escorts – usually use pre-med CU students, 4) Register patients and process paper work for eligibility.

Meals on Wheels mission is to provide and deliver hot meals to incapacitated and isolated residents of the Clemson Area. We provide hot meals consisting of meat, vegetables, drink and fruit 5 days a week, 52 weeks per year.   We have two basic needs: funds to purchase meals and drivers to deliver meals.


Collins Home and Family Ministries

Collins Home has been helping children and families for 28 years in a loving, caring, Christian environment. This is done through a residential program on campus as well as counseling and other services as each family may require.
Collins Home is not about taking children away from their families – instead, they work with families through an established plan to help rehabilitate families or educate them through skills training and tools so they can live together in a healthy home environment.

Collins Home & Family Ministries depends on volunteers to serve as: Mentors, Tutors, Grounds Maintenance (any time available), Playground Maintenance, Carpenters, Electricians, Painters, Spring/Fall Cleaning Assistants, Cooks, Basic Repairs, Plumbers, Office Assistance, Network Repair/maintenance, Website design and upkeep, and Foster Homes.   All volunteers directly involved with children will have to complete SLED background check and TB test prior to volunteering.

Golden Corner Ministries mission isto feed low income persons especially the elderly. We distribute food to low income and needy , currently over 350 seniors and a total of 800 families per month. We have no paid staff and rely on volunteers each morning Monday – Friday for preparation distribution of food boxes. Our greatest needs are donations for discounted food and for or Brown Bag Program for seniors.

Helping Hands of Clemson is an emergency shelter for abused and neglected children. Our mission is to give these children a loving, safe place to stay until the courts decide where they go from here. Amon g the services that we provide are medical, dental, clothing, shelter, and food. Funding for operating expenses is our greatest need. HUD no longer provides funding for children shelters. Volunteer opportunities include: homework tutors, phone buddies, pen pal, and buddy pals.

                                                                                                                   

Home Bound Mission                                                                                                                Home Bound Missions is an all volunteer organization whose mission is to feed the home bound , diabled and those facing hardship in Pickens and Oconee Counties. The Jail Ministry is a Parish outreach to visit inmates at Oconnee County Jail in Walhalla. Volunteers make weekly visits to men(Sunday) and women(Wednesday), reading the Sunday scriptures, listen to inmate concerns, motivate and support jail employees to develop programs for inmates such as AA, NA, GED, tutoring, etc, and with help from Parish provide Christmas gifts for children of inmates.

Lila Dolye Nursing Facility is a skilled nursing home for 120 residents in Oconee County and is sponsored and operated by the Oconee Medical Center. Our mission is to ensure optimal health and enhanced quality of life for the residents by providing an enlivened environment and appropriate medical and nursing care in a cost effective manner. Our greatest needs are transportation to physician offices and volunteers for visiting or providing assistance in activities.

Hospice is an organization that provides care to terminally ill patients and support to their families. Its mission is to assist it’s patients and their families to find hope in each day, comfort and dignity to live as fully as possible, surrounded by love up to the final moment and to support them through their journey of grief.

Services provided are nursing and medical care aides to assist with comfort and personal care. Social Workers and Chaplains address the emotional, spiritual and social needs. 


 Oconee County Habitat for Humanity

Oconee County Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat is a joint venture in which the homeowner family is required to do 250 hours of volunteer work either at a Habitat facility or other approved organization or charity. Houses are sold at no profit and no interest so that monthly payments are affordable.

Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. 


The Haitian Project

The Haitian Project, through its school, Lovvertune School in Port au Prince, Haiti, provides tuition free boarding school for secondary students from the poorest neighborhoods in and around Port au Prince. The school helps 363 students with food, housing and education.

Tamassee DAR School is a children’s home that nurtures, teaches, and gives hope to those young lives interrupted by devastating events including death or abandonment  of a parent, divorce, neglect and abuse, educational issues, drug or alcohol abuse in the family, violence, an/or parent’s inability to properly raise their children.  Tamassee DAR offers residential care for children ages 5 to 18. Our children are given the opportunity to grow mentally, physically and spiritually.  This is achieved by utilizing staff to work with each child and family to help them reach their individual goals. Tamassee’s Aftercare program offers transitional support for students leaving our residential program.  Our greatest need is funding or donations for general operating expenses. In-kind donations to our Thrift Store are also needed.   Volunteer opportunities include administrative help, assistance with building and grounds maintenance, assistance at special events and group activities, and help in the Thrift Store.
