GOLDEN CORNER FOOD BANK
Ø At St. Paul’s………. your donations for the Golden Corner Food Bank may be brought in weekly to St. Paul’s in Seneca. Look for the container around the corner to the left in the Gathering Space. Many thanks for your generosity in these times of factory closings and job losses. The food baskets for the Seneca Food Bank are usually hidden around the left corner of the Gathering Space. This does NOT mean we do not need food; we desperately need food! We can use cereal, peanut butter and baby food. There are many young people losing their jobs and they need help. PLEASE bring in food donations with you next weekend.
Ø At St. Francis ………… the St. Francis Friends of the Food Bank collect a variety of food each month. They are also collecting for the “Brown Bag Program” sponsored by Golden Corner Food Bank. $60 will sponsor a needy senior citizen for a year. Those wishing to donate to this worthwhile cause can make a check out, in any amount, to the Golden Corner Food Bank and put in the basket in front of the altar. Cash donations will be pooled until the $60 sponsorship is attained.
Ø Regardless of church …..for $60, we can sponsor an elderly person or couple, for a WHOLE YEAR of groceries!! This is only possible because of Golden Corners Food Bank’s connection with Golden Harvest. Think of it: 25 pounds of food is given to this family every month for a year including staples and frozen meats, for a cost of ONLY $60! Please consider participating in this one-of-a-kind program to help those in our community who are elderly and low income. Brochures are available in the gathering space, or call Ruth Cushman at 654-1757, x14.
