 Coordinating Committee

The St. Francis Coordinating Committee was formed in August 2008 and is the direct result of research conducted by the Mission Committee that was commissioned by Fr. Sandy McDonald in September 2007.

It is composed of the representatives of St. Francis to the parish wide committees, several members-at-large and it includes the "special to St. Francis" areas of: Coordinator/Liaison, Building & Environs, Friends of the Food Pantry, Grounds, Mass Coordinator and Women's Club.

It meets "as needed" and contact is maintained between meetings via e-mail. There are no officers. A non-voting, "Facilitator" serves as the central conduit, gathering and creating the Agenda; guiding the meeting through that Agenda and compiling and sharing with members and the Parish Council, a synopsis of the accomplishments of the meeting.

In this way, assistance is offered to our clergy and congregation in administration of the St. Francis Mission Church. The committee's goal is to be a central conduit for activities that use the facility; to generate interest and availability of faith enrichment opportunities; to maintain the lay support of each Mass that is offered here and to keep this church's building and grounds well maintained and safe while contributing to and cooperating and communicating with the congregations of the other churches of this Parish.

Any non-personal matter regarding St. Francis should be brought before the Committee. The Committee Liason is then asked to contact the appropriate authority, etc.

 First Friday Adoration
Every First Friday of the month immediately following Mass we have exposition of the Blessed
Sacrament.

The Blessed Sacrament remains exposed continually from lOam until 7 pm. The church is open to
everyone for prayer, meditation and adoration. Prayer is personal and individual and you visit for as
brief or as long as you want, and pray however you like. You can sit and unburden your heart to The
Lord or just sit and listen to Him. You cannot outdo The Lord. He will give you His Peace and His
Love.

St. Francis is a quiet, bright, comfortable, traditional church.
We do have a need for individuals to commit to one hour each First Friday so that the Blessed
Sacrament is never left alone. This is a wonderful way to serve the Lord as well as our community. If you are able to commit to just one hour on any First Friday, contact anyone on the Coordinating Committee for a time. There is also a sign-up sheet on the Gifts Table in the rear of the church, or simply come and make a visit.

 Pastoral Council Members & Reports

The Pastoral Council is made up of 3 elected representatives from each of the three churches.  Six other representatives are appointed and include: (1) representative from the Parish Staff; (1) representative from the Finance Committee; (1) representative from the Hispanic Community; (3) other representatives from various constituencies of the Parish.  Meetings are open to all parish members.

Normal meeting date and time is the FIRST TUESDAY of each month at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul's in Seneca, in the double classroom.  The next meeting will be TUESDAY, May 1, 2012.
