Justice & Service Opportunities

As baptized Christians and as Catholics, we believe that our membership in the Body of Christ is defined by how we treat each other.  “Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers & sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40)

On-going justice & service opportunities are provided for all our parishioners with sign-ups available in the vestibule of the Church each Sunday.

 Examples:
·         Habitat for Humanity: Each Fall during Clemson University’s Homecoming, Habitat for Humanity builds a house on Bowman Field. We volunteer with the building, the guarding and the ongoing installation of the house throughout the Fall and Spring.
·         Southernside Community Center in Greenville: Once per month, we team up with other faith communities in Clemson in making bagged lunches, toiletry bags and collecting clothes that we then deliver to the homeless and hungry in Greenville. Usually, we prepare everything on the first Friday of the month and deliver it the next day.
·         Operation Hope: Each Spring, we help the Knights of Columbus hand out tootsie rolls and collect donations for the mentally challenged children of our area.
·         Neighbor to Neighbor: Each Fall, we help a few of our senior citizen parishioners with raking their lawns. This is a job that they can no longer do themselves, so as good neighbors, we gladly help out.
·         Crop Walk: Each year, we join in the Clemson Community Care sponsored “Crop Walk for Hunger.” Through donations, we raise money for the center and for national and world hunger relief services.
·         Birthright: We are supporters of Birthright of Clemson in their effort to reach out to women who are distressed over unplanned pregnancies. “We love them both,” is there motto. From fundraising to publicity, Birthright always needs volunteers.
·         Relay for Life: Throughout the year, our “Relay for Life Team” raises money for the American Cancer Society and then raises awareness by participating in the all night Relay for Life on Clemson campus in April.
